Hi again.. just me … Hope everyone’s Easter was fun. My son was in the local Easter Parade on Saturday. I'm a little sad, it is his last parade, he graduates this year. Here is my handsome kid marching in his last parade.
I have been a busy beaver this week with classes, lots of activity in the studio. The first thing I love about activity in the studio is that it gets cleaned in preparation. I’m a pretty organized person but I love that extra push to make things nice. The whole house got a good cleaning since people were here for Easter too. We hosted my husband’s family, for the first time, because we have a new and larger home. We could never do that before. I only wish the nephews were young still to do an egg hunt. Oh well., time flies.
Speaking of “time flies” and classes, I just did a class with the “girls” here at the studio Monday night. They did such a beautiful job and I wanted to share. These are altered clocks from the Tim Holtz line. They are just a shell and the back comes off to decorate. The light in my studio is a bit wonky so the pictures didn’t turn out quit as I hoped. The color is off a bit. Here is my clock; the picture is taken in better light so you get the idea of how they actually turned out. We all loved the project. Probably my favorite of all the projects I have done with the “girls.”
And here are Roberta’s, Dawn’s and Rita’s. Always fun to do a project with them :-)
So Friday, I had a group of actual little girls here for a class. This is the first time I have had such a young group in the studio. These girls were 7. Five giggly 7 year olds playing in the studio, super fun! I have always worked with kids since I graduated from high school, so this wasn’t exactly out of the ordinary for me , but I just hadn’t taught art to so many 7 year old girls in one sitting. They were so much fun and like I said, giggly. They had a really good time and have booked a second session for this summer. I can’t wait. Here is some of their work :-)
I have done several classes over the last few months with a few munchkins. Here are more painting from another group. This was a birthday party and the flowers were a bit more intricate. These girls did a great job too.
In addition to classes, I had time to go over to our local elementary school and help a class of 4/5/6th graders do a fun project for their school’s auction. Here is their beautiful project.
I can’t wait to go to the auction and see all the beautiful art work the kids have finished for it. I am donating two classes, one for adults and one for kids. The adult class will be this fun wreath that I have shown you several times. I’ll be hosting 5 women to make this in the near future.
OK, so time really does fly and with all my upcoming classes and events that happen in May for our family, I’m going to be a busy girl. I’ll do my best to keep up my posts. Hopefully I have great stuff to share. :-)
